For this project, we created a fire pit patio and walkway connecting the home to the shore of Lake Michigan. To complement the home’s minimalistic, contemporary style and adjacency to the wooded shoreline, we selected natural stone and plant materials. Specifically, bluestone used in the walkway and patio showcases the same hue of the concrete used on the exterior of the home. The result is a more functional outdoor space that encourages human interaction with the water surrounding it.
